Strong profit growth drives Shandong Gold Mining stock

Shandong Gold Mining's shares rose about 6.5% to HK$27.18 after the company reported a first-half 2026 net profit attributable to shareholders of roughly RMB 3.543 billion (up more than 26%), despite revenue falling about 5.6% to RMB 53.588 billion. The figures signalled marked margin expansion and were supported by an analysis from Dongwu Securities, which highlighted progress on growth projects. Key drivers include the planned capacity increase at the Sanshan Island mine (regulatory approval expected by end-September 2026) and the Osino project in Namibia, with production due to start in H1 2027.
