James Holder, co-founder of Superdry, was sentenced to eight years in prison after a jury found him guilty of raping a woman at her Cheltenham flat following a night out in May 2022. The court heard the victim was intoxicated and repeatedly asked Holder to stop; Holder accepted sexual activity occurred but denied assault, claiming consent. His application for bail was dismissed due to being considered a flight risk with significant resources. Grant Phillips was jailed for 26 months after admitting fraudulent trading for taking £30,000 from 12 customers between April 2021 and October 2023, leaving victims more than £22,000 out of pocket and causing unsafe, unfinished work. He operated under the trading names Superdry Plumbing & Drainage, Rhino Plumb and Plumb Fix, and was caught after complaints to Citizens Advice and Action Fraud led to an investigation by Suffolk Trading Standards.
