Hapag-Lloyd has again revised its forecast for 2026 upward due to persistently strong demand and high spot freight rates. Group EBITDA is now expected at USD 3.9–4.4 billion (EUR 3.4–3.8 billion) and group EBIT at USD 1.25–1.75 billion (EUR 1.1–1.5 billion). Hapag-Lloyd has again raised its forecast for 2026 due to strong market demand and higher spot freight rates. Group EBITDA is now expected at USD 3.9–4.4 billion (previously USD 2.7–3.7 billion) and group EBIT at USD 1.25–1.75 billion (previously USD 0.1–1.1 billion), corresponding to EUR 3.4–3.8 billion EBITDA and EUR 1.1–1.5 billion EBIT. Hapag-Lloyd insists on ZIM takeover despite Israeli veto

Hapag-Lloyd is still pursuing the takeover of Israeli carrier ZIM for about €3.6 billion to expand its fleet to more than 400 ships and capacity to over 3 million TEU. The Israeli government has so far rejected the plan because of stakes held in Hapag-Lloyd by sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
