BAWAG P.S.K. has agreed to acquire Irish lender Permanent TSB at €2.97 per share, valuing the bank at about €1.62 billion. The offer includes a 26% premium to the closing price on 29 October 2025 and was unanimously recommended by the PTSB board; the Irish state, which holds 57.5% of the shares, has pledged its support. The deal is to be implemented via a court-approved scheme of arrangement and is subject to regulatory approvals; completion is expected in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.
