Lloyds Banking Group said a software defect introduced during an IT update to its Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland mobile apps overnight into 12 March allowed up to 447,936 customers to potentially view other users’ payment and account details. About 114,182 people clicked into transactions that revealed account details, national insurance numbers or payment references, and some non-customers may also have been affected. Lloyds reported the incident to the FCA and the ICO within required timeframes, has paid £139,000 in compensation to 3,625 customers, and says there is currently no evidence of misuse or financial loss. Lloyds Banking Group has announced the full repayment of its 1.627% Senior Callable Fixed-to-Fixed Rate Notes (maturing 2027) with an outstanding principal of US$1 billion. Payment will be made on 11 May 2026 at 100% of principal plus accrued interest; the listing on the New York Stock Exchange will be withdrawn shortly thereafter. Lloyds will deposit a sufficient, irrevocable amount with the trustee, at which point interest will cease and bondholders’ rights will be limited to the repayment claim. » Mais em de.investing.com

A Lloyds system error merged a customer’s profile with her twin sister’s dormant Halifax account because they share initials and an address, preventing the new cardholder from registering her credit card. The bank says the credit check used the correct name and that monitoring did not affect the sister’s credit file, and has paid £350 to the affected customer and £100 to the sister.
