The European Commission approves the label expansion for VENCLYXTO (venetoclax) in combination with acalabrutinib (with/without obinutuzumab) and in combination with ibrutinib for the treatment of adult patients with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The approval covers all EU member states as well as Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein and is based on data from the phase‑3 AMPLIFY and GLOW trials and the phase‑2 CAPTIVATE study, which showed significantly reduced risks of progression or death. The all‑oral, time‑limited combinations provide additional treatment options with the potential for treatment‑free periods; common adverse events included headache, diarrhea, muscle pain, COVID‑19 and fatigue, and serious adverse events occurred in 25% of patients.
