Tees Valley Lithium has signed a non-binding letter of intent with E3 Lithium for a planned long-term refinery partnership in the UK. E3 would convert lithium carbonate from the Clearwater project in Alberta into battery-grade lithium hydroxide at TVL facilities; the agreement has an initial term of 10 years and a volume of up to 50,000 tonnes. The deal gives E3 access to the European market and complements TVL’s previously announced binding offtake agreement with a Glencore subsidiary for up to 10,000 tonnes per year. TKMS has signed a cooperation agreement with E3 Lithium to integrate Canadian lithium deposits into the supply chain for battery-powered submarine technology. The partnership covers research, technology transfer and investments and is linked to the Canadian submarine program. The company plans to drill a production and injection well next, is selling non-core Saskatchewan assets for $4.29 million to bolster financing, and aims for commercial production by 2028 with a target of about 36,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually.
