Aeromexico increases revenue passenger kilometers in August by 2.9%
Aeromexico reported RPK growth of 2.9% for August on a capacity increase (ASK) of 2.3% and a load factor of 89.7% (+0.6 percentage points). The number of passengers carried fell slightly to 2.15 million (-1.0%), with growth driven mainly by international traffic (RPK +4.3%; load factor 89.9%). In the eight-month period, cumulative RPK rose 0.9%, capacity increased 0.4% and load factor rose to 85.8% (+0.5 pp), while passenger traffic fell to 16.11 million (-2.5%). Aeroméxico suffers from high fuel costs and weaker EBITDAR in Q2
Aeroméxico reported EBITDAR of USD 264 million in Q2, a 21% decline from the prior quarter, weighed down by USD 30 million higher fuel costs. Revenue rose 12.5%, EBITDAR margin was 18%, and premium revenues made up 43% of passenger-related revenues.
