Peel Pepper to review response to Harworth's rejection of takeover offer

Peel Pepper (UK) Limited will review the rejection of its cash offer of 172.5 pence per Harworth share and comment later. BidCo highlights metrics from Harworth's half-year results: EPRA NDV per share down 4.3% to 214.8 pence, statutory NAV per share down 4.2% to 206.5 pence, and an accounting total return of -1.4% over 18 months. Harworth: half-year figures hit by residential valuations, focus on grid-connected land and logistics

Harworth reports a first half weighed down by valuation losses in the residential segment: EPRA NTA per share fell 4.3% to 214.8 pence and the accounting total return was -3.7%. Operationally the company made progress in industrial logistics and grid-connected land, secured 0.8 GW of grid connection commitments and announced a full withdrawal from the residential property business. Net debt rose to £190m and the portfolio is valued at £301.4m; the long-term target is an investment portfolio of £500–600m.
