Semiconductor Manufacturing International reports strong Q2 growth and raises outlook

The share price of Semiconductor Manufacturing International rose 6.3% to HK$71.8 after Q2 results. Revenue exceeded US$3.0bn for the first time (+36.1% YoY, +20% QoQ) and net profit attributable to shareholders climbed 261.7% to US$479m, well above analysts’ estimates. Gross margin expanded to 25.3% and the EBITDA margin reached a record-high 70.2%.
