Webster shareholders have agreed to Santander’s takeover offer worth about $12 billion. Santander is offering $48.75 in cash plus 2.0548 Santander shares (in the form of ADS) for each Webster share, valuing Webster at roughly $73.49 per share. The approval was confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting; the deal is expected to close in the second half of the year, subject to regulatory approvals.
