Xiaomi launches 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max with enhanced privacy display and dual 200MP cameras

Xiaomi introduced the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China, featuring hardware-level privacy display technology that can be app-, notification- and location-triggered, plus rear auxiliary screens. Both models use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips, include two 200-megapixel cameras and a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and differ mainly in screen size, battery (7,000mAh vs 8,500mAh) and the Pro Max’s slightly higher-end chipset. India's SFIO recommends detailed probe into Xiaomi over investment and compliance concerns

India's Serious Fraud Investigation Office has recommended a detailed investigation into Xiaomi for alleged irregularities in its business model, movement of funds and compliance with tightened foreign investment rules introduced in 2020. The SFIO proposal seeks to examine beneficial ownership of foreign investors, possible undisclosed changes in control, financial statements and ties with e-commerce partners, and suggests coordination with other agencies. Xiaomi says it has not received any SFIO notice and that it complies with Indian laws.
