Ambac Financial Group has completed the sale of its traditional financial-guarantee business, including Ambac Assurance Corporation and Ambac Assurance UK Limited, to funds managed by Oaktree for $420 million in cash. The transaction represents nearly 93% of Ambac’s current market capitalization and was approved by the Wisconsin insurance regulator. TPI Composites voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 protection in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to carry out a comprehensive financial restructuring. The company agreed to debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing of up to $82.5 million with senior lenders, including funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, and plans to continue operating during the process.
