  • Fermi reports rapid Project Matador buildout, seeks tenant leases and project financing

Fermi said it substantially completed initial Phase 0 work at Project Matador, secured a 6 GW air permit and filed for an additional 5 GW, and has deployed about $570 million into construction in 2025. The company is pre-revenue with a 2025 net loss driven largely by noncash items, held $409 million cash at year-end and says current liquidity covers obligations for at least 12 months. Management emphasized the need to sign definitive tenant agreements and close project-level financing before committing material capital to the next phase; multiple LOIs and negotiations are ongoing. At the same time, a special shareholder meeting called by former CEO Toby Neugebauer was canceled; major shareholder Caddis Capital supports the current board and rejects Neugebauer's proposals.
