Clariant supplies catalyst system for largest licensed PDH plant in China

Clariant has been awarded a contract by Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical to deliver the CATOFIN catalyst system as well as a heat‑generating material for a new propane dehydrogenation plant in Zhejiang. The plant is expected to reach a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per year and would thus be the world’s largest licensed PDH plant. Triple upgrade and court ruling drive Clariant to 52-week high

Clariant shares rose 3.3% to CHF 10.37, reaching a 52-week high after three investment banks upgraded the stock to "buy". The move followed the Amsterdam district court’s dismissal of an around €1bn damages claim by Shell and better-than-expected Q2 results. Clariant reported adjusted EBITDA of CHF 171m (consensus CHF 152m), sales of CHF 941m (consensus CHF 915m), a free-cash-flow conversion of 52% and raised its cost-savings target to CHF 100m. Barclays upgrades Clariant to overweight after court ruling against Shell

Barclays raises its rating for Clariant from equal weight to overweight and increases the price target from CHF 8 to CHF 11.50, supported by a district court in Amsterdam dismissing a €1 billion damages claim by Shell. The bank reduces its estimate of Clariant’s legal risk from market‑implied CHF 2 billion to CHF 0.8 billion and sees upside of around 25.7% versus the July 31 closing price.
