Eisai: FDA allows initial dose of Leqembi for at-home use
The FDA has approved the initial dose of Eisai’s Alzheimer treatment Leqembi for subcutaneous at-home use, allowing patients or caregivers to administer the therapy themselves. Until now treatment began with intravenous infusions in clinics, with maintenance therapy following after 18 months. The approval is likely to increase accessibility and acceptance and to set Leqembi apart from intravenously administered competing drugs. Possible side effects include injection-site reactions such as redness, swelling, rash, pain or bruising. » More on de.investing.com
Eisai unveils conservative three-year plan targeting ¥1 trillion in revenue and ¥90 billion operating profit
Eisai has presented a three-year plan through March 2029 aiming for ¥1 trillion in revenue and ¥90 billion in operating profit. The revenue target is roughly in line with consensus (¥972 billion), while the operating profit goal is below analysts’ estimates (¥101.8 billion). The company specifies target revenues of ¥300 billion for Leqembi, ¥250 billion for Lenvima and ¥100 billion for Dayvigo, and expects a cost of goods sold ratio of 30% (consensus 23%), which it attributes to a worse product mix. » More on de.investing.com
Eisai posts record revenue, operating profit falls sharply
Eisai reported record revenue of JPY 825.4 billion (+4.6%) for Q4 of fiscal 2025, while operating profit fell 18.8% to JPY 44.1 billion and net profit fell 17% to JPY 38.6 billion. Core operating profit more than doubled to JPY 50.1 billion, driven by the pharmaceutical business with products such as LEQEMBI, DAYVIGO and LENVIMA. The company attributed the profit declines to strategic decisions against out-licensing and unexpected restructuring costs in Europe. For 2026, Eisai forecasts further growth, including expected sales of JPY 345 billion for LENVIMA and JPY 143.5 billion for LEQEMBI. » More on de.investing.com
