First Horizon focuses on deeper customer relationships and margin improvement
At the Barclays conference, First Horizon presented its "Five Flags" framework targeting small and medium-sized businesses, middle-market banking and specialty businesses to drive cross-selling and deeper banking relationships. The bank sees advantages in its geographic footprint, improved spreads in the commercial real estate business, strong deposit growth in Q3, and efficiency gains from AI use and targeted capital management. » More on de.investing.com
First Horizon reports stronger Q2 with higher adjusted EPS, loan growth and CET1 at 10.5%
First Horizon posted second-quarter progress with adjusted earnings up year‑over‑year (adjusted EPS growth ~20%), adjusted PPNR rising 8%, and period‑end loan balances up roughly $2 billion year‑over‑year (period‑end loans +$953 million QoQ). Net interest income increased modestly despite a 3 bp margin compression as loan growth offset funding pressure; deposit costs rose slightly with brokered deposits contributing to quarter‑end funding.
