Funding Circle share falls 11.5% after CEO resignation announcement despite strong half-year results

Funding Circle reported H1 2026 revenue of £138.2m (+50%) and a pre-tax profit of £24.1m (quadrupling). Funding Circle raises full-year guidance after strong H1 growth, shares fall

Funding Circle reported H1 2026 revenue of £138m (+50%) and profit before tax of £24m (vs. £6m a year earlier). Management raised the full-year guidance to over £255m revenue and more than £40m PBT, citing strong loan volumes, operating leverage and growth in FlexiPay and cards. Operating costs rose more slowly than revenue, expanding the PBT margin to 17%. Funding Circle receives financing commitment of up to £500 million from Castlelake

Funding Circle has signed a two-year financing agreement with Castlelake for up to £500 million, under which Castlelake will gradually invest capital through the platform into loans for UK small businesses. The deal brings Castlelake in as a new institutional investor and broadens Funding Circle’s funding base; the company operates a capital-efficient model.
