FutureFuel returns to profit, stock jumps sharply

FutureFuel reported a net profit of $11.4 million for Q2 2026 after a loss of $14.2 million a year earlier and doubled revenue to $78.7 million. Adjusted EBITDA turned positive at $11.8 million; both business segments, chemicals and biofuels, showed clear recoveries, and operating cash flow rose substantially. FutureFuel sells 2025 tax credits for $3 million and secures $19 million deal for 2026

FutureFuel sold Section 45Z tax credits for 2025 to Freepoint Commodities and received about $3 million before fees. The Biofuels segment is involved in the production and sale of biodiesel and petrodiesel blends; and the buying, sale, and shipping of refined petroleum products on common carrier pipelines.
