  • Equinor discovers oil and gas field in the North Sea with 19–50 million barrels of oil equivalent

Equinor, together with Petoro and TotalEnergies, has discovered a new oil and gas field in the North Sea. Preliminary estimates put recoverable resources at 19 to 50 million barrels of oil equivalent. Production is planned to be tied in quickly to existing subsea infrastructure and routed via the Oseberg Sør platform. Equinor plans numerous further wells and projects through 2035 to keep production on the Norwegian continental shelf stable at 1.3 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. » More on finanzen.net

  • Equinor benefits from rising gas prices, storage situation in Germany remains critical

Rising gas prices in Europe are boosting Equinor’s revenues and pushing up its share price. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Katherina Reiche considers a gas shortage this winter unlikely, even though German storage facilities are at around 59% capacity, below the legally required target of 80%. Reiche announced a strategic reserve for gas storage and additional precautionary measures after the state-owned company Sefe was instructed to store more gas. Analysts remain positive on Equinor given the prospect of tight supply and the dividend. » More on deraktionaer.de

  • Equinor benefits strongly from rising gas prices amid Middle East tensions

Severe tensions in the Middle East and advances by Huthi rebels threaten shipping routes such as Bab al‑Mandab and the Strait of Hormuz, further constraining LNG exports from the Persian Gulf. The TTF futures contract has risen above €80/MWh and has doubled since July, while European gas storage levels remain significantly underfilled. As the largest gas producer in Western Europe, Equinor supplies a substantial share of European demand and thus directly benefits from higher prices, so the outlook for the company is viewed as positive. » More on deraktionaer.de
