Shell doubles LNG Canada production capacity to 28 million tonnes per year
Shell plans to build two additional liquefaction trains at LNG Canada in British Columbia, doubling capacity to 28 million tonnes per year. Shell holds a 40 percent stake in the project and would thereby receive almost 6 million tonnes of additional LNG per year; commercial operations are expected to begin in the early 2030s. The expansion targets rising gas demand in Asia and is supported by Canadian efforts to streamline permitting processes. The announcement slightly weighed on Shell's share price in its home market. » More on finanzen.net
Morgan Stanley upgrades Shell to top pick, lifts price target to $101.30
Morgan Stanley upgraded Shell to Overweight and raised its price target to $101.30, implying upside beyond Shell's prior record high. The bank cites the $16.4 billion acquisition of ARC Resources and recent upstream investments as materially expanding Shell's gas reserves and production capacity. Shell's strong Q2 results and $5.8 billion of cost savings since 2022 support the bullish view, but the ARC deal—mostly paid in shares—creates dilution risk and the company remains exposed to swings in commodity prices. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Shell increases quarterly profit to $9.8 billion, but sees production risks
Shell reports an adjusted profit of $9.8 billion for the second quarter, driven by record production in Brazil and high refinery utilization. At the same time, Integrated‑Gas volumes fell sharply as disruptions in the Middle East strained supply chains and facilities. The group announces further share buybacks and a slightly increased quarterly dividend, while persistently high oil prices and potential production outages could strongly affect future share‑price and earnings expectations. » More on finanzen.net
