Hermes beats expectations: sales rise, stock climbs
Hermes reported a 2025 sales increase of 5.5% to around €16 billion (adjusted +8.9%) and beat analysts’ expectations in the final quarter. Operating profit (EBIT) rose 6.8% to just under €6.6 billion, but net profit fell 1.7% to €4.5 billion due to higher taxes. The driver was mainly the leather goods business around Birkin bags; perfume/beauty and watches weakened. Hermes confirmed its medium‑term targets, raised prices at the start of the year by an average of 5–6%, and plans to pay a dividend of €18 per share; the stock most recently rose about 2.7% to €2,178. » More on de.investing.com
Hermès Birkin auction prices slide from pandemic highs despite headline sales
Two high-profile Jane Birkin auctions fetched multimillion-dollar sums, but overall auction prices for secondhand Birkin and Kelly bags have declined from pandemic peaks, according to Bernstein. The average resale premium fell from 2.2× in 2022 to 1.4× in November, with some models like the Birkin Togo 30 now reselling at about retail. Analysts cite inflation, a softer jobs market, rising secondhand supply and more resellers as pressures on prices, though Hermès remains top-ranked for consumer desirability. » More on cnbc.com
Jefferies cuts target price for Hermès to €2,250 and keeps rating at Hold
Jefferies reduces its target price for Hermès from €2,300 to €2,250 but confirms the "Hold" recommendation after reviewing the quarterly report. The analyst describes the result as largely in line with expectations and points to investor concern over diminishing market share gains. Hermès, however, appears confident for the final quarter as macroeconomic headwinds in China seem to be easing. » More on finanzen.net
