  • HOCHTIEF receives up to £1.5bn framework contract for Sellafield

    HOCHTIEF has won a long-term framework contract worth up to £1.5 billion for the operation, maintenance and further development of the Sellafield nuclear site. The contract runs for up to 15 years (nine years plus a six-year option) and replaces a previous framework agreement. HOCHTIEF will provide a wide range of services in partly radiation-controlled, operational areas; the site's focus is on remediation, decommissioning and safe storage of nuclear waste.     Hochtief shares lost around 7.9% in trading and fell to €383.3 after calls by leading US tech executives for a slowdown in AI development put pressure on semiconductor stocks and cyclical names.     HOCHTIEF has acquired Autmatec, a specialist in high-voltage overhead lines based in Walldorf. Autmatec employed around 80 people and most recently generated annual revenue of about €50 million; the purchase price was not disclosed.
