Humacyte plans November FDA filing for ATEV as dialysis access
Humacyte will submit a supplemental Biologics License Application to the FDA in November 2026 to approve the acellular blood-vessel implant ATEV for use as dialysis access. The filing is based on results from three Phase‑3 studies, with study V012 showing that female patients with ATEV went on average three months longer without a dialysis catheter than those with an arteriovenous fistula. ATEV already received FDA approval in 2024 for the treatment of vascular trauma and holds Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) and Fast Track designations for dialysis use. » More on de.investing.com
Humacyte: phase‑3 ATEV outperforms autologous arteriovenous fistula according to Lancet publication
Humacyte published one‑year results from the phase‑3 V007 study in The Lancet Digital Health showing superiority of the biotechnologically produced acellular blood vessel (ATEV) over the autologous arteriovenous fistula as a hemodialysis access. The results indicate particular benefits for female patients and for male patients with obesity and diabetes. After achieving the primary superiority endpoint in the V012 study, Humacyte plans to file a supplemental BLA to expand the Symvess indication in the second half of 2026; the FDA had already approved the ATEV for vascular trauma in 2024. » More on de.investing.com
Humacyte appoints nephrology experts to prepare commercialization of ATEV
Humacyte has retained Dr. Robert J. Kossmann and Dr. Prabir Roy‑Chaudhury as advisors to support the market launch of the acellular, bioengineered vessel (ATEV) for hemodialysis access. The appointments follow positive Phase‑3 results and the announced submission of a supplemental Biologics License Application to the FDA. Despite regulatory progress, the stock trades with a marked price decline and a small market capitalization; analysts see possible underpricing, while the company typically incurs high cash burn before commercialization. » More on de.investing.com
