Kadokawa cites isekai oversupply after drop in sales and shifts to diversify anime lineup
Kadokawa blamed an overreliance on isekai fantasy for a decline in domestic publication business and a 5.6% year‑on‑year fall in net sales, with operating profit also down due to weaker domestic and overseas streaming licensing. Kadokawa plans to diversify by reinvigorating legacy IP, producing original works (such as Goodbye, Lara) and pursuing global promotion to rebuild international traction. » More on forbes.com
