Onex urges investors to value earnings power rather than NAV
CEO Bobby Le Blanc said at the Scotiabank Financials Summit that Onex has repaired the balance sheet, reduced net debt to zero after the Convex transaction and cut private-equity exposure by 19 percentage points since the start of 2024. Convex now represents about 45% of invested capital and is presented as the biggest value driver with high return potential and scalability. Onex expects fee-related revenue of roughly CAD 35 million for the year, has resumed share buybacks and is looking for 1–2 further direct investments over the next 3–5 years, mainly in the financial services sector. Management emphasizes that investors should henceforth judge the stock by earnings performance; if the revaluation does not occur, sum-of-the-parts measures or accelerated buybacks could be possible. » More on de.investing.com
