Saga and Ageas have launched the operational start of their 20‑year partnership in the motor and household insurance business; sales of new motor policies began on 15 December. Saga records surprisingly strong first half thanks to booming travel division
Saga reported a pre-tax profit of £3.7m for the first half to 31 July 2025, after a pre-tax loss of £116.9m a year earlier. Operating EBITDA rose 8% to £67.5m and adjusted revenue increased 7% to £320.5m, while adjusted profit before tax fell 5% to £23.5m due to higher financing costs. The travel division saw higher passenger numbers; in July the river cruise ship “Spirit of the Moselle” entered service. Saga completed the sale of its insurance underwriting business to Ageas, reduced net debt by £102.1m to £515.1m, and confirmed its full-year target as well as long-term goals of at least £100m adjusted pre-tax profit by January 2030 and a leverage ratio below 2.0x. » More on de.investing.com
