Shoe Carnival cuts full-year forecast after weak Q2 – shares plunge sharply
Shoe Carnival (now listed as Shoe Station Group) reported Q2 2026 net sales of $284.3 million versus $306.4 million a year earlier and well below analysts’ estimates, sending the stock down about 23% in premarket trading. Management cited an increasingly discount-driven market, aggressive pricing actions and accelerated inventory cleanups that pressured gross margin, and lowered its 2026 revenue and adjusted EPS guidance. Both sales channels saw significant declines (Shoe Carnival -6.5%, Shoe Station -8.4%) and the company is transitioning to interim CEO Cliff Sifford, adding further uncertainty. The stock fell to a new 52-week low and is now more than 60% below its 52-week high. » More on de.investing.com
