GameStop's eBay acquisition hinge as 59 million warrants near Oct. 30 expiration

GameStop disclosed a $4.9 billion stake in eBay and a proposed acquisition while holding $4.85 billion in cash and about $2.8 billion of convertible debt. Approximately 59 million warrants with a $32 strike expire on October 30 and could have provided up to $1.9 billion of deal funding, but GameStop shares trade at $22.76, well below the strike. Operating income and margins improved materially in Q2, though GAAP net income was boosted by a $166 million derivative gain. GameStop: CEO Ryan Cohen and director Alain Attal buy shares again

GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen purchased about 1.15 million Class A shares on the open market at a weighted average price of $22.94 (around $26.4 million), his second million-dollar buy within eleven days. Director Alain Attal simultaneously bought 17,500 shares at $22.97. Since June 2023 the two have recorded a total of 13 open-market purchases at an average entry price of $21.71.
