Barometer Capital Management increased its Information Technology weighting in Q2 and added a new position in SiTime, citing the company’s leadership in silicon-based timing devices that are replacing quartz as data rates rise in AI data centers and high-speed networking. At the Goldman Sachs conference, SiTime said its business is expanding beyond MEMS timing devices, supported by higher margins, a broader product portfolio and rising demand from AI data centers. Gross margin rose to 67–68%, operating margin was 34%, and the acquired Renesas IC-timing business contributed about $85m in Q3 and is expected to grow 60–80% annually in 2025. Management sees the addressable timing market at $22–25bn by 2030 and is prioritizing R&D and integration of the acquisition over buybacks, while aiming to significantly reduce net debt within 24 months.
