Morgan Stanley highlights Smurfit Westrock as a top pick after Q2 results and an updated outlook. Smurfit Westrock boosts revenue in Q2, cost pressure weighs on earnings
Smurfit Westrock reported net revenue of $8.03 billion for the second quarter, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.35 (reported $0.17) and a net profit of $88 million. Adjusted EBITDA was $1.14 billion, gross profit $1.40 billion and operating income $309 million. Significantly higher input costs, particularly freight, hurt results, although paper demand stayed strong and EMEA and APAC grew above average.
