Steppe Cement returns to profit and pays interim dividend
Steppe Cement reported a net profit after tax of $9.0m for H1 2026, after a loss of $0.5m a year earlier. Cement sales rose 15% to 978,950 tonnes, group revenue was 29,588 million KZT (about $61.1m) and the average price per tonne increased markedly; gross margin improved from 21% to 34%. Operating profit was $11.8m, operating cash flow rose to $9.6m and net cash stood at around $16.7m. Steppe Cement recorded a 33% revenue increase in the fiscal year to 31 Dec. 2025, reaching KZT 52.375 million (about USD 100 million), and sold 2.07 million t of cement, up 21%. The average cement price including delivery rose 10%; the company’s market share in Kazakhstan is 14.3%. It plans to raise production capacity to 2.5 million t by modernizing its clinker line from 3,000 to 4,500 t/day; investment costs are estimated at around USD 35 million, of which USD 5 million is for environmental measures.
