Telo Genomics: blood test detects myeloma cells far more often than bone marrow standard
Telo Genomics reports that its blood-based TELO-MRD test detected circulating myeloma cells in 39 of 42 samples (92.9%) in a comparative study with the University of Athens, versus 23 of 42 samples (54.8%) with EuroFlow-NGF in bone marrow; the difference was statistically significant. The test combines quantification of circulating tumor cells with three-dimensional telomere analysis via the TeloView platform and measures minimal residual disease as well as genomic instability at the single-cell level. The study is based on a limited, paired cohort and requires confirmation in larger, independent studies. TELO-MRD is not yet commercially available; Telo Genomics aims for a market launch by the end of 2027 and estimates the addressable market for MRD tests in multiple myeloma at USD 300–400 million. » More on de.investing.com
Telo Genomics files provisional US patent application for blood-based myeloma MRD test
Telo Genomics has filed a provisional US patent application for a TeloView biomarker algorithm designed to determine minimal residual disease (MRD) in multiple myeloma from liquid biopsies and predict relapse risk. The filing also covers a workflow for isolating circulating cancer cells from peripheral blood; existing patent protection for TeloView runs until 2043. The company is running a study with the University of Athens to compare liquid-biopsy MRD results with EuroFlow, but notes that provisional applications do not guarantee eventual patents. Telo Genomics is under financial pressure (market capitalization ~USD 85 million, loss- and cash-flow-negative) and the stock is trading at USD 1.24. » More on de.investing.com
