Tsakos Energy Navigation posts record H1 results and eyes higher dividends, preferred redemption
Tsakos Energy Navigation reported record results with first-half net income of $228 million ($7.12/share) and Q2 net income of $139.3 million, supported by a 41% rise in time-charter-equivalent rates to $43,503 per vessel per day and $71 million in profit-sharing revenue. Adjusted EBITDA rose 68% to $324 million for the first half, and the company has about $3.5 billion in forward committed earnings with 84% of its operating fleet covered by time charters. Management said the 26-vessel newbuilding program has appreciated by at least 30%, pro forma fleet value is roughly $4.9 billion against $2 billion of debt, and it is considering a higher regular dividend and possible redemption of $120 million of preferred shares while any sale of minority interests in a subset of vessels remains preliminary. » More on finance.yahoo.com
