Vaxart presents progress on oral vaccine platform and reports positive safety data
At the H.C. Wainwright conference, Vaxart provided updates on its oral vaccine platform, including encouraging safety data from a 400‑person sentinel cohort in the BARDA‑funded Phase IIb COVID‑19 study. The larger COVID study of roughly 5,400 participants will read out in the first half of 2027. Collaborations with Sanofi and government funding secure milestone payments, royalties and liquidity through at least mid‑2027. Norovirus and influenza programs show promising early data and could be positioned for partnerships. » More on de.investing.com
Vaxart reports favorable 12-month safety data for oral COVID vaccine, main cohort topline due H1 2027
Vaxart reported no vaccine-related serious complications in the 400-participant Phase II‑B Sentinel cohort of its oral COVID-19 vaccine and will seek BARDA approval to release top-line data from the ~5,000-participant main cohort in the first half of 2027. BARDA provided a $29 million contract modification to fund expanded safety, immunogenicity and genomic analyses, including mucosal antibody testing. The company ended Q2 2026 with $64 million in cash and short-term investments, sufficient to fund operations into Q2 2027 under the current plan, and continues to pursue a norovirus partnership while implementing board and governance changes. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Vaxart misses Q2 forecasts: revenue falls due to declining BARDA payments
Vaxart reported second-quarter revenue of $27.2 million (forecast $50.5 million) and a loss of $0.06 per share (forecast $0.03). Revenue declined 31.5% year over year, mainly due to lower BARDA contract payments, while reduced R&D spending lowered the net loss. The company has $64 million in cash and expects liquidity to last into Q2 2027. The main cohort of the COVID-19 study is fully recruited; initial efficacy and safety data are expected in the first half of 2027, and BARDA has provided an additional $29 million for expanded analyses. » More on de.investing.com
