Wajax misses revenue forecast, stock falls 11% after hours
Wajax reported Q2 2026 revenue of CAD 515.7m (-5.7%), well below the expected CAD 550.02m, and earnings per share of $0.82 (expectation $0.825). Gross margin improved to 20.9% and adjusted EBITDA rose to CAD 45.9m, while equipment sales plunged 22.3%. Management attributed the revenue decline in part to the absence of a large delivery of mining excavators and longer purchasing decisions in some segments, while stressing stable recurring services. The stock fell after hours to $30.49 (-11%) amid investor concerns about growth momentum. » More on de.investing.com
Wajax Q1 2026: revenue misses expectations, stock plunges after earnings disappointment
Wajax reported Q1 2026 revenue of $502.1 million (expectation $531.48 million) and earnings per share of $0.65 (expectation $0.745), after which the stock fell about 13% to $29.54. Despite declining revenues, the company delivered margin improvements (adjusted gross margin +150 basis points to 20.6%), an 82% increase in operating cash flow to $46.8 million, and reduced leverage to 1.51x. The revenue decline was driven mainly by a 23.3% collapse in equipment sales and broad regional weakness, particularly in western Canada. Management expects uneven market conditions, is focusing on margin improvement, cost control and selective growth, but sees near-term challenges for volume growth. » More on de.investing.com
