Wealthfront launches mortgage business in California
Wealthfront expands Wealthfront Home Lending into California, making the offering available in three states (California, Colorado, Texas). The division holds licenses in 28 states and plans near-term expansion to Florida, Illinois, Oregon and Washington. The product targets interest rates roughly 50 basis points below the national average, which the company says is achievable through automated underwriting and lower operating costs; for a $1 million purchase this translates to savings of about $262/month or $94,400 over 30 years. Wealthfront notes a high share of its borrowers receive RSU income (20% overall, 30% in California) and offers dedicated RSU verification as well as self-service tools for online rate locks and automatic import of account data. » More on de.investing.com
