Agrana has decided to acquire Upper Austrian flavor producer esarom and will take a 100% stake. The transaction is expected to be completed after signing the purchase agreement and receiving antitrust clearance at the start of the 2027/28 financial year. Esarom operates two production sites in Austria, employs nearly 400 people and generated around €112 million in sales in the 2025 financial year; Agrana intends to strengthen its Food & Beverage Solutions business and its capabilities in flavors and beverage solutions with the acquisition. » More on kurier.at

A voting-rights notification shows that, under a split and takeover agreement concluded on 6 August 2026, Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien (RLB NÖ-W AG) is to acquire the AGRANA shares held by RAIFFEISEN-HOLDING NIEDERÖSTERREICH-WIEN (RHO), subject to suspensive conditions. AGRANA Zucker, Stärke und Frucht Holding holds 48,955,088 shares (78.34%) plus a call option on 800,000 shares (1.28%), meaning ABH reports a total of 79.62% relevant voting rights; RLB reports 79.87% for the group. Agrana reports EBIT of €19.30m in the first fiscal quarter, an increase of 521% versus the prior year; the EBIT margin was 4.10%. Revenue fell by 2.8%. Drivers were efficiency measures as well as higher margins in the ethanol business and lower production costs in the sugar segment; the Food & Beverage Solutions segment recorded a slight EBIT decline.
