Dell reported a blowout Q2 as AI infrastructure demand surged, with AI server orders hitting a record $60.9 billion and the company’s backlog reaching $95 billion. COO Jeff Clarke said widespread shortages — including DRAM, NAND, CPUs, disk drives, power components, substrates and optical parts — forced Dell to prioritize components for its infrastructure business.
