Nuveen to buy Schroders for £9.9 billion

US asset manager Nuveen is buying British asset manager Schroders for £9.9 billion, paying 612 pence per share, a premium of more than 30%. The deal will create a group with nearly $2.5 trillion in assets under management and ends Schroders’ 220-year independence. Schroders is to keep its name, London will remain the largest location outside the US, the takeover is expected to close in the fourth quarter and is subject to shareholder approval. » More on handelsblatt.com
