  • Pembina opts for C$2.1 billion stake in 932‑MW gas plant in Alberta

Pembina has made the final investment decision for the 932 MW gas‑fired Greenlight Electricity Centre in Sturgeon County. The project is being developed by a joint venture with Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and Kineticor; total project costs are about C$4 billion (around C$4.6 billion including financing costs). Pembina’s net investment after land proceeds is roughly C$2.1 billion and is expected to deliver an annual adjusted EBITDA run‑rate of about C$310 million after commissioning; commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2030. Construction will be largely executed under fixed‑price EPC contracts with a consortium of Aecon and Técnicas Reunidas, and about 60% of the costs will be financed with project‑specific debt.
