Shoals announces strategy to expand beyond solar despite margin pressure
At the Barclays conference Shoals presented a realignment: the company wants to expand beyond EBOS for solar installations into battery energy storage systems (BESS) and into data-center power with the AirLink product. Revenue is growing about 30%, well above the market, but tariffs, a product mix with lower-margin OEM business and costs from a factory relocation are weighing on gross margins. BESS is still at an early stage but is seeing increasing order intake; Shoals views AirLink as a first-mover with an addressable market of $2–4 billion and targets commercialization in early 2025. A legal patent victory against Voltage has already brought new orders and strengthened the competitive position. » More on de.investing.com
Shoals beats Q2 forecasts, cautious outlook weighs on stock
Shoals reported adjusted EPS of $0.12 and revenue of $163.4 million for Q2 2026, both above consensus estimates, and adjusted EBITDA of $31.6 million. Revenue rose 47% year over year, supported by large solar projects and gains in the BESS business, and the backlog reached a record $801.4 million. The stock fell in premarket trading after management confirmed the full-year guidance rather than raising it and flagged near-term headwinds from legal costs and slightly lower margins in Q4. Shoals cited growth drivers including the AirLink product, the TerraFlow partnership and a larger BESS pipeline, but expects EBITDA impacts from legal costs in Q3. » More on de.investing.com
