The activist hedge fund Palliser Capital has urged Toto to place greater emphasis on its specialty ceramics business for chip production and to increase investment there. Palliser views Toto as a significantly undervalued beneficiary of the AI chip boom and sees potential upside of up to about 50% if market revaluations occur. Japanese bathroom fixtures maker TOTO opened a new $224 million, three-floor manufacturing plant in Morrow, Georgia, boosting U.S. production by nearly 50% and starting production this fall. The facility, on more than 363,000 sq. ft., is expected to generate about $43 million for Clayton County’s economy and is described as the company’s most advanced U.S. factory to date. Japanese sanitaryware maker Toto will invest $224.3 million to expand its plant in Morrow, Georgia, to increase toilet production capacity for North and South America by 50%.
