AECOM posts record backlog but takes $337 million charge from delayed project
AECOM reported an all-time high backlog and record quarterly bookings, with a company-wide book-to-burn ratio of 1.6 and adjusted EBITDA and EPS rising when excluding one-time items. The quarter included a $337 million pretax charge tied to a delayed construction management project that pushed completion into late Q2 fiscal 2027, reduced headline results, and used $185 million of cash. Management expects the project to continue consuming cash through H1 fiscal 2027 and forecast higher 2027 interest expense; the firm retains $2 billion of undrawn capacity and raised its full-year adjusted EBITDA margin outlook to 17.4%. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Aecom plunges to 52-week low after $377m project loss drives quarterly loss
Aecom reported a Q3 FY2026 net loss of $0.65 per share after a $377 million pre-tax hit from cost overruns and subcontractor delays on a 2019-managed construction project, sending the stock down 17.9% to a 52-week low. Revenue fell 14% year over year and management trimmed full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $3.95–4.15 and free cash flow to $300 million, down from prior targets of $5.90–6.10 and $400 million. Backlog rose 13% to a record $27.8 billion with a book-to-burn ratio of 1.6, but the troubled project—expected to complete mid-2027—and heavy reliance on government contracts raise concerns about execution and meeting long-term earnings goals. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Aecom falls after weak Q3 and significant guidance cut
Aecom shares slid about 7.1% in pre-market trading after Q3 results that clearly missed consensus. Adjusted EPS showed a loss of $0.50, while excluding a one-time pre-tax charge of $337 million adjusted EPS would have been around $1.49. Aecom reported record bookings of $4.2 billion and a record backlog of $27.8 billion, but cut its full-year EPS guidance to $3.95–4.15 (previous consensus about $5.97). Investors awaited the management conference call, which further dampened pre-market sentiment. » More on de.investing.com
