  • Torm share falls after Oaktree announces large share disposal

Torm’s share fell about 6.3% in premarket trading after the report that OCM Njord Holdings S.à r.l. plans a secondary placement of 9 million class A shares. The vehicle is indirectly controlled by funds of Oaktree Capital Management and ultimately by Brookfield; the company itself is not selling shares and will receive no proceeds. Before the transaction the selling shareholder held about 20% of the class A common shares, and J.P. Morgan was granted a 30-day option for up to 1.35 million additional shares, meaning up to 10.35 million shares could enter the free float. The large supply combined with a weak overall market led to increased selling pressure and the price decline. » More on de.investing.com

  • TORM posts record quarter as Strait of Hormuz disruptions boost earnings

TORM reported a record quarter with Q2 TCE of $512 million and net profit of $338 million, driving EBITDA to $416 million and EPS to $3.31. Management raised full-year TCE and EBITDA guidance and approved a $2.40 per share dividend, while net interest-bearing debt fell and NAV per share was reported at $36.50. Executives warned the gains stem largely from geopolitical disruption around the Strait of Hormuz that can reverse quickly, and the company faces higher operating costs, multi-year newbuilding commitments and volatile freight-rate risk. » More on finance.yahoo.com
