  • Aecon boosts backlog by $714 million through Metrolinx‑GO expansion

    The 50/50 joint venture ONxpress (Aecon and FCC Canada) signed alliance agreements with Metrolinx for the GO Expansion project in Ontario, increasing Aecon’s backlog by $714 million. Of that amount, $649 million will be recorded in the third quarter of 2026 in the Construction segment and $65 million was recorded in the second quarter.   • Aecon wins $815-million contract to upgrade Winnipeg wastewater plant

    A consortium led by Aecon (Red River Biosolids Partners) has been awarded an $815‑million contract by the city of Winnipeg to modernize the North End Water Pollution Control Centre. Partners are MWH Constructors and Oscar Renda Contracting, each holding 33.3%; Aecon’s share will be added to the Construction segment’s order backlog in Q3 2026. The project includes new sludge treatment facilities and modifications to the city’s largest wastewater treatment plant; commissioning is scheduled for Q4 2030, with final completion planned for Q2 2031.
