Akanda Corp postpones extraordinary general meeting to November 28

Akanda places convertible notes of up to $12m to strengthen balance sheet

Akanda Corp completed a private placement of convertible notes of up to $12m with institutional investors. Proceeds are to be used, among other things, for up to $3.5m for marketing, up to $3m for working capital and up to $7m for debt reduction. The financing comes at a critical time amid a weak financial position and a negative EBITDA of -$4.36m; the convertible notes have a 12-month term.
