Deutsche Bahn takes Berlin–Paris ICE out of timetable for now over technical problems with Alstom train protection

Deutsche Bahn has temporarily removed the direct ICE between Berlin and Paris from the timetable due to technical problems with Alstom’s European train protection system. Affected passengers must change trains in Frankfurt am Main or Mannheim, according to a statement; a date to resume service is still unclear. Alstom is working intensively to fix the issue quickly. Alstom-built “Urbanliner” enters regular service on line M4 after delay

After years of delay, the BVG’s 50-meter tram “Urbanliner,” built by Alstom, is in regular service on line M4 starting today. Additional vehicles will be delivered step by step; 15 trains should be in service by the end of the year and a total of 30 by the end of 2028. Delays were caused by disagreements with the approval authority, particularly over weight and the retrofitting of supports around Alexanderplatz; the approval currently applies only to line M4. Alstom Urbanliner begins regular operation in the Berlin tram network

The 50‑metre Urbanliner tram delivered by Alstom has entered regular passenger service on BVG line M4 after several years of delay. Fifteen vehicles are to be delivered by the end of the year and a total of 30 are planned to be in service by the end of 2028; further deployments on other lines are envisaged.
