Mayor of Tequila arrested for allegedly extorting Becle and other distillers with CJNG ties

Mexican authorities arrested Tequila mayor Diego Rivera and several officials for allegedly running a corruption ring that extorted major distillers, diverted public funds and collaborated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Investigators say the scheme targeted Becle and other producers by imposing up to 20 times the legal property tax, withholding permits and levying a fine of more than 60 million pesos. Becle Q3 2025: EBITDA rises sharply, stock jumps 6%

Becle reports Q3 2025 EBITDA of 3.5 billion pesos (+63.3%) and net income of 4.1 billion pesos, with revenues unchanged at 10.9 billion pesos. EBITDA margin increased to 31.7% and net debt to EBITDA improved to 1.0x.
