Carnival unifies corporate structure after court approval in the UK
A UK court has approved the scheme of arrangement to unwind Carnival’s dual corporate structure. Shareholders had already approved the DLC unification and the change of domicile on 20 April 2026; the transaction is expected to take effect when the court order is filed at the UK Companies House on 7 May 2026. The last trading day for Carnival plc ordinary shares and the deactivation in the CREST system are scheduled for Monday; the suspension and cancellation of the London listing will take effect on 7 May 2026. » More on de.investing.com
Carnival reports record quarter, cuts full-year outlook and launches PROPEL program
Carnival posted record Q1/2026 revenue, adjusted EBITDA and net income of $275 million, and its adjusted EPS of $0.20 beat expectations. The company lowered its full-year outlook for adjusted EPS to $2.21 and adjusted EBITDA to $7.19 billion, largely due to a $500 million fuel headwind. Under the new PROPEL strategy through 2029, Carnival targets a ROIC above 16%, adjusted EPS growth of more than 50% versus 2025, and shareholder returns of about $14 billion. For 2026, Carnival plans dividends of more than $800 million and a $2.5 billion share buyback program; the stock reacted slightly negatively in premarket trading. » More on de.investing.com
Carnival shares plunge as oil spike exposes lack of fuel hedges
Carnival stock tumbled after a sharp crude oil rally and rising Middle East tensions increased fuel costs, with the company particularly exposed because it does not hedge fuel purchases. The shares have fallen sharply over the past week and month, amplifying margin pressure as every dollar increase in oil hits Carnival directly. Rival cruise lines with fuel hedges, such as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line, are holding up better, though sector-wide booking risk and canceled Middle East itineraries weigh on demand. Key risks to monitor are the path of oil prices, any change in Carnival’s fuel strategy, and broader consumer travel sentiment. » More on finance.yahoo.com
